Sage 100 Miscellaneous Items in Sales Order

Sometimes people don’t use the inventory management module in the MAS90 system as they don’t deal with Inventory items and warehouses in business. They need to create sales Orders with a few limited service Items for which they can’t afford to purchase an Inventory Module. Hence Sage 100 (formerly Sage MAS90) has provided functionality to use miscellaneous, Charge, and comment types items as Line items while creating a sales order in a system.

By default settings of MAS90, We can use only those items in the Sales Order which has been created in the Inventory Management Module. But sometimes as per the above business requirement, it is suggested to use the AR Miscellaneous Items in Sales Order. For this, we need to follow the following steps:

  1. Go to Sage Mas90 Company Account Receivable -> Setup ->Miscellaneous item maintenance and open the Item which you want to use in the Sales order

  2. Check the ‘Allow Use in Sales Order’ checkbox and click on the ‘Accept button’. Refer to the below screenshot.

The above setting allows you to use miscellaneous items in the Sales Order.

After the above setting go to Sales Order -> Sales Order Entry and fill in the details in the main tab then go to the Lines tab. Here you can find the Line Items grid. Use the ‘/’ [forward slash] in the Item Code column then write the code of the miscellaneous item that you marked as ‘Allow in Sales Order’ in the Account Receivable’s item Or else you can click on the finder button of Item code cell to select AR Miscellaneous Items. Here we have used the miscellaneous item in the Sales Order Entry. See the below screenshot.

Other information on AR Miscellaneous Items like pricing, description, and Unit of a measure will appear on screen after selection of Item code.

This way we can use the AR Miscellaneous, charge and comments items in the MAS90 Sales Order Entry.
