Adding Google Map to an address in Salesforce

By | January 2, 2015

It is possible to add a google map to any Salesforce object. The map can be used to graphically display the address of a particular record.

Let’s say we want to display address in our custom object. Suppose our custom object has the fields Street, City, Zip, State, and Country. We will need to add a formula field to this custom object. The formula to be used is as follows –

IMAGE(“https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap?center=” + Street + “,” + City + “,” + State + “,” + Country + “&zoom=13&size=600×300&markers=color:red|” + Street + “,” + City + “,” + State + “,” + Country + “&sensor=false”
, “No map available”, 300, 600)

The records will now display the map in the formula field as shown below –Map
