GUMU™ for Sage CRM – Sage 100 provides seamless connectivity between CRM and ERP systems, allowing users to access critical inventory and transactional data directly within Sage CRM.
In Sage 100, the Inventory module maintains structured item records along with attributes such as on-hand quantity, warehouse information, and pricing. In addition to these standard attributes, Sage 100 also supports warehouse management functionality through bin locations.
What is a Bin Location?
A bin location represents a physical storage location assigned to an item within a specific warehouse. It helps organizations manage inventory placement efficiently and track where products are stored inside the warehouse.
Customer Requirement
One of our customers requested a way to view bin location information directly while creating Quotes and Orders in Sage CRM. The objective was to provide warehouse-related visibility at the line item level without requiring users to switch between Sage CRM and Sage 100.
Solution Implemented
To meet this requirement, we implemented a customization that displays bin location details at the line item level during order and quote creation.
A new read-only text field was added to both the New Line Item and Quick Line Entry (QLE) screens. When a user selects an item on a quote or order, the system automatically fetches the corresponding bin location from Sage 100 based on the selected warehouse and displays it in the CRM interface.
For items that are associated with multiple bin locations, the values are displayed as comma-separated entries, ensuring complete visibility without complicating the user interface.
