The GUMU™ for Sage CRM – Sage 100 Integration is a real-time, bi-directional link that seamlessly connects Sage CRM and Sage 100 where users can view customers, vendors and sales information from either of the systems.
In this blog, we highlight a recent customization implemented for a client using our GUMU™ for Sage CRM – Sage 100 integration solution.
The client required that the Primary Vendor assigned to each Item in Sage 100 (under Item Maintenance) be:
- Synchronized to Sage CRM.
- Displayed against the corresponding Product record in Sage CRM.
- Available as a filter while creating Quotes and Orders in Sage CRM.
The objective was to provide sales users with better visibility of vendor-related product information directly within the CRM interface.
To meet this requirement, we introduced a new field named “Primary Vendor” in the Sage CRM Products entity. This field stores the Item Primary Vendor value from Sage 100 through GUMU™ integration.
How It Works:
When the standard Import Product routine is executed in Sage CRM through GUMU™ integration with Sage 100:
- The Item Primary Vendor value is synchronized from Sage 100.
- The value is stored in the Sage CRM database.
- It is automatically mapped to the newly created Primary Vendor field in the Products entity.
Each time the Import Product routine runs, the Primary Vendor field is automatically populated or updated for all selected products, ensuring vendor information remains accurate and consistent without manual intervention.
To further enhance usability, we extended this functionality into the Quote and Order creation screens.
While Creating Quotes or Orders:
- The Primary Vendor field is available as a filter in Quick Line Entry (QLE).
- Users can filter products based on the assigned Primary Vendor.
This enables sales teams to quickly identify products associated with specific vendors directly within the Quote/Order screen, eliminating the need to switch between systems.
This enhancement delivers several business advantages:
- Improved visibility of Item Primary Vendor information within Sage CRM.
- Faster product selection during Quote and Order creation.
- Reduced manual lookups between Sage 100 and Sage CRM.
By integrating the Item Primary Vendor from Sage 100 into Sage CRM Products using GUMU™, we enhanced data transparency and streamlined the sales process. This customization demonstrates how integration solutions can be tailored to align perfectly with specific operational requirements.
