Understand business and financial performance using Sage Intacct Performance Cards

Performance cards are most recognizable by their different appearance from most other dashboard components. 

Sage Intacct Performance Cards are concepts that showcase trends in financial and business metrics in quick and native way. It provide a broad range of financial and operational insights for improved decision making.

It is easy to create and doesn’t require coding skills.

Performance cards display a single value as a comparison of one account group for a certain period. For example, you can create a performance card to compare sales either this month against last month, or this month against the same month last year.

  • In order to add new performance card, navigate to dashboard click on Plus sign.

  • From the component properties dropdown select performance card.

  • Appearance tab on the Component properties screen.  In the title field enter a title for performance card. As per the scenario our performance card will be Sales comparison between the current month and the previous month so it is named ‘Sales – Previous Month’.  Once the account group is set ensure you specify the Reporting period, how you wish the amount to be displayed (amount or percentage) and how you wish it to be rounded. Click on the drop down of Reporting book select (Single or multiple).

  • Lower portion of this performance card is ‘Comparison’ in which we will be comparing current period with the previous period. There is a dropdown there to select the ‘compare to’ > Select the Icon using dropdown you wish to have displayed on your performance card > Select the colour for the Icon For example, if your actual expenses exceed the budget it will be display a Sad Red Face but if your monthly sales of this month exceed your monthly sales of last month, it will display a Happy Green Face.  You can also choose whether to show the period difference or the percentage of change.

  • Filters tab of performance card allow you to select specific values. For example, if you only want the performance card to display the Sales values for one location then select Specific location including sub location. Once you are satisfied with your performance card settings, click on save button, also we can modify these setting at any time.

  • Now preview your Dashboard in order to see your new performance card.

Note: You can create performance cards that compare an actual figure against a budget. However, creating a computation within an account group with the numerator and denominator coming from different actual vs budget isn’t supported. In this case, consider a graphical approach to get the comparison with a visualization.
