Auto Creation of a Project & Estimate

By | August 20, 2009

In Project Accounting module of MAS 500 system, user can creates a Master Project and against that Master Project creates a sub Project. After the Project, user can entered Project estimates. BUT to add other activities like Timesheet, Invoices, Project Transactions (Debit/Credit) user has to post the estimate entries for ‘Fixed Price’ and ‘Fixed Price + ‘project type.

What about if the user wants to create a sub project for a Master Project and its estimate on just a single button click? We at Greytrix, have a component where user has to just create a Master Project and hits a single button and program will create a Sub-Project and Estimate for that Master Project with default values. Please refer the below screenshot.

On clicking ‘Create Sub Job & Estimate’ button, routine will first perform the requires validation of Master Project and display the new screen in which user has to select the ‘Project Type” and click on ‘Proceed’ button.

In processing, sub Project ID will be created with Master Project ID + incremental value (-01) (i.e. 00000065-01). For estimate transaction rest of the values are defaulted from Master project like Customer, Customer Contact, Project class etc.
