View all currently active sessions in a Salesforce Organization

By | June 30, 2014

A new feature released by Salesforce in the Spring’14 release allows the user to view all currently active sessions in Salesforce. This is a very helpful feature that allows the administrator (or anyone with View Setup and Configuration setting enabled) to view list of all the currently active users in the Salesforce organization. This feature is available in Developer, Performance, Enterprise, Professional, Contact Manager, Group, Unlimited and Database.com editions.

In addition to viewing all active sessions, the administrator (or anyone with View All Data setting enabled) can terminate any active session. This will automatically log the user out of the Salesforce organization. To do this, the administrator has to navigate to Setup >> Security Controls >> Session Management.usersession

Here the user can select any required user session and click on Remove to terminate that user’s session. The user will be automatically logged out from the organization as soon as the administrator clicks Remove.
