Creating a Lead in Sage CRM for an Incoming Email

By Greytrix | April 21, 2009

Have you ever thought of creating a Lead in sage CRM for every incoming email?

Normally, when an Email is filed in CRM, only a communication and a case are created, no lead.

To achieve the same in CRM what we can do is that we can modify the default js file which will handle the lead creation operation.

When an email is filed in CRM, our routine will read the Email Subject, Email Body, Sender Name and Sender Address from the incoming email and assign these values in Lead Description, Lead Details, Lead Person Name, and Lead Person Email Address fields respectively for the newly created lead.

We will also set the Email in Lead Source field to identify from where this lead has come into the system (i.e. the source of the lead).
