In Sage 300 ERP, Order Confirmation reports are widely used by businesses to validate customer orders and share essential details such as items, quantities, prices, and shipping information. However, organizations often require additional fields to align with specific business processes. One such customization request we recently implemented was to add the “Deliver By Date” field on the Order Confirmation report.
New Stuff: – Smarter Order Fulfillment: Order Details Dashboard
One of the clients wanted their sales team and customers to have clear visibility of the delivery timeline right on the Order Confirmation report. While the Deliver By Date field is available in the Order Entry screen, it was not reflected in the default Order Confirmation print layout. As a result, users had to manually communicate delivery commitments, which sometimes led to delays, errors, or miscommunication between teams and customers. The client required a seamless solution that would automatically include this information in the report.

We customized the Order Confirmation Report in Sage 300 ERP to meet this requirement. The customization involved:
- Fetching the Deliver By Date value entered during order creation in the Order Entry screen.
- Mapping this field to the Order Confirmation report dataset.
- Placing the field appropriately in the report design for maximum clarity and professional presentation.
Now, whenever users enter a Deliver By Date while creating and posting an order in the Order Entry screen, the same is displayed automatically on the printed Order Confirmation report without any additional effort.
This addition in report has let to some benefits to users:
- Improved Clarity: Customers can immediately see the expected delivery timeline.
- Reduced Manual Effort: No need for sales teams to add delivery details separately.
- Professional Reports: Order confirmations now carry complete and accurate information.
