Sage CRM 2020 R1: Extended support for Nested Mail Merge – Part 2

This blog is in continuation to the topic of Nested Mail merge in Sage CRM 2020 R1. You can refer the below link for the same. In this blog, we will explain how to create the Nested mail merge templates against the new entities definition recently added in MailMergeRelatedInfo table.

Once you enable nested mail merge for any entity say, Company; we will find the “Insert Nested region” field visible while creating new templates against the Company entity. You can refer below screen shot for same.

Follow the below steps to create nested mail merge template. We will be using here Company and Cases entity.

  1. Find the company from Find screen or search the company using Quick find search and Open any Company record.
  2. From company summary screen, navigate to Documents Tab.
  3. From Documents screen click on Merge To Word button.
  4. Once you click on Merge To Word button, you will see the list of templates against the company entity. Click on Create template button to create new nested mail merge template. Refer below screen shot for same.

5. You will be redirected to Create and Merge Document screen. Give the file name and description. Click on “Insert Nested Region” hyperlink to add the nested region in the template. Now add the field you want to show in the template from “Insert Sage CRM Field” list. Refer Below screen shot for same.

Once done you can either save the template for further reference; or you can preview or merge the details directly. In this way you can easily enable the nested mail merge and creates the template.
