Opportunity Mail Merge not showing Opportunity ID

While creating a new template for mail merging or while adding fields to an existing template, at times there are some fields that are not available in the ‘Insert Sage CRM Field’ drop-down list. In this blog, we will explain how to add fields that are not available in the drop-down list.

Consider, an example for an opportunity for the mail merge is to be done, the template shows as all the fields related to opportunity are displayed in the drop-down except the field ‘Opportunity ID’. Refer to the below screenshot.

Below are the steps involved in adding the required fields to the template.

  • Log in to Sage CRM
  • Navigate to below path
    Administration | Customization | Opportunity
  • Select Views tab and select vMailMergeOpportunity view. Refer below screen shot.

  • Click on the change button, and add the below line in the view. Refer below screenshot Oppo_OpportunityId as OppoID

  • Next, Now navigate to below path
    Opportunity | Merge to Word. Refer below screen shot.

  • Create a new template or edit an existing template. In the Insert Sage CRM Field drop down list, OppoID field will be populated.

This trick can be used to add different required fields as per the requirement.
