In current Sage 500 functionality, user can create Business insights explorer based on SQL View and also can navigate the business explorer into the Sage 500 Menu.
User can create the business explorer on any existing SQL View or new SQL View of Sage 500 database, the main pre-requisites is SQL View name needs to be start from prefix ‘vdv’. Example: vdvStockstatus, vdvVendorList.
Goto System Manager >> Maintenance >> Maintain Business Insights Views / Context Menus
a new or existing Business Insights view ID, or click the Lookup button to list all view IDs.
You need to set some of the fields on the screen and generate the business explorer.
- View Name :
Enter the SQL View name or click the Lookup button to list existing view names.
- Caption, Name and Description :
Type a caption, name and description to display for the view in Business Insights Explorer.
- Goto Navigation Relationships tab
Use this tab to add and update navigation relationships between the business explorer and the destination views. A relationship needs to be specified for each unique destination view listed on the Preview the explorer.
In the last steps, you need to click save button or finish button to generate task id for the business explorer in Sage 500.
