New stuff: Identifying Screen Mode in Client Side API
Now in this blog we are going to discuss an out of box feature that we have added to send Sage 300 Invoice in PDF/Word format to customer.
Recently we came across a requirement from one of our Client where they wanted to send Sage 300 Invoice details to Customer being on the Invoice information screen itself and that too in a specified format. Basis on the Client’s request we have added Email Invoice button on Invoice Information screen as shown below.
Upon hitting Email Invoice button, Invoice document will be sent to Customer as an attachment in Email. Refer below screenshot of the email that was received by Customer with an attachment.
The Invoice document which customer receives was stored in particular format. So, for this we kept a folder containing format of the invoice on the server. This format will be merged at run time when Email Invoice button as shown above is clicked.
The email content added in the above screenshot is just a basic content; we can modify the content and subject line as per the requirement.
As for sending the email to Customer, we have used Sage CRM standard way of sending email to Customer.
Below are the detailed steps we followed to send Invoice Email to Customer.
- Configured Invoice Email content and subject line in Email templates of Sage CRM.
- Fetched Customer Email address from Customer Email record.
- From address is defined under Email Aliases.
- Used standard SMTP settings to send email to Customer.
