Sage CRM’s reporting tool has helped to get a clear picture of all the work data in a very efficient way. Users can either fetch all the data at once or apply various criteria such as date, company, or stage of the record to get the data in an appropriate manner. Different report display options is an additional advantage to get the data in different formats. But have you ever faced such an issue where the report was visible through screen option but not in excel?

While working in Sage CRM 2018 R3 version, we faced a very strange issue where the report data was visible on screen and pdf; however on trying to extract the data in excel we faced error called “An error occurred while running the report. Error generating report”. You can refer below screen shot for your reference.

However on trying on fetch other reports data in excel worked successfully. We couldn’t even find any error details in SQL or System logs as well. Thus the only alternative left was to remove every output column one at a time and run the report. That’s when we could identify that the Integer field which was added in report output made it crash.
On further analysis, we found that unchecking the “Show Summary Data” check box from the last page of report configuration solved the issue.

In this way you can overcome the issue while exporting reports to XLSX with integer fields in reports.
