With the release of Sage CRM‘s new version i.e., Sage CRM 2021 R2 many new features as well as enhancements are made available that help to manage the Customer Relationship and make the business process smooth and trouble-free as well as user-friendly to use. One of the new enhancements is now available on Quote and Order module for mail merge.
New Stuff: Renaming the Standard Entity in Sage CRM
In this blog, we are going to discuss about the new enhancement on Quote and Order module for mail merge i.e. Selection of Template while sending Quote or Order functionality on quote or order. Sage CRM’s Mail merge functionality is one of the most useful functionalities for every Business. Mail merge functionality allows users to merge the transaction details onto a word or pdf document with just few clicks and then users can forward it to the customers. Mail merge functionality had made it the most prominent feature of Sage CRM.
In Sage CRM 2021 R2 version, sage have made a one new enhancement that allows users to select a template while sending a quote or order attachment on email using the ‘Send Quote’ and ‘Send Order’ from quick mail merge functionality.
In Sage CRM 2021 R1 and the earlier version, a user could click on to the Send Quote or Send Order button. This would use a default template to merge a pdf file that would then be attached to the email. Based on the email template designed, the email address, subject line and the mail content will be auto populated. User can then make the modifications if any on the runtime and send the email. However, there is one drawback of this functionality, i.e. it does not allow users to choose between two or more templates at the time of sending the email. The single template becomes the fixed one for mail merge functionality.
Now, in Sage CRM 2021 R2 when a user clicks the Send Quote or Send Order button, they are prompted to select an existing available document template to generate the quote or order. The generated quote or order is then attached to the new email message in the next step. The image below shows a Quote Screen.
Once you click on Send Quote button, the button will redirect you on to the “Document Templates” screen. This screen includes all the existing available document template to generate the quote or order. You can refer the below image for your reference.
One of the advantages is that, this is a user-friendly functionality where the users can select any document template dynamically and proceed with the mail merge for quote or order. In this way, with the help of this new enhancement, users can now select any existing document template for merging the document on Send Quote or Send Order.
