Sage CRM provides many in-built features in CRM application. One of the commonly used feature is Mass Emails. With the help of this feature, users can send email to individual contact person or list of contact persons. You can send the mass emails to Person, Company and Lead Entities in Sage CRM. You will be able to send mass emails from either the Search screens of Person, Company and Lead Entity or from the Group screens via the New Email button.

In this blog, we are going to discuss how to check the progress of emails in Mass Emails i.e., how to identify that the emails has been sent to the selected contact person or not.
Consider an example where you want to send Mass Emails to the list of contact persons for a company in CRM. For this you can navigate to the Person find screen and search for all the peoples with the company name. Once the search is completed, you will find the list of persons associated with that company and Action button “New E-mail” on the right hand side of the list. Then perform the mass email sending process. After following these steps we will never come to know that whether emails has been reached to contacts mailbox or not?
Well, we can now check the progress of Mass email status in CRM. For this follow the below steps.
- Login to Sage CRM.
- Go to Marketing || Mass Email Status tab.
The “Mass E-mail Status” tab allows you to monitor the progress of the Mass email sending. You can refer to the below screenshot for the same.
Another way to check the mass email progress status is from back-end i.e., using SQL database. As each email is sent using the Mass emails functionality, a flag in the “comm_link” table is set for each communication associated with the Mass Emails. For this “cmli_massemailsent” field is used to maintain the flag in “comm_link” table. When the email has been sent successfully, the field “cmli_massemailsent” is updated with the value ‘Y’ in the “comm_link” table.
The cmli_massemailsent field is only used for Mass Emails functionality and the field cmli_massemailsent is initially set with the null value. If the value is null means there is a problem with mass email sending and email has not yet been sent to the selected contact person.
We can see that the Mass Emails uses the cmli_massemailsent field and Mass E-mail Status tab to check the progressing of emails in Mass Emails. With the help of this knowledge, we can construct the reports to monitor progress of emails in Mass Emails.
In this way we can check the progress of Mass Email sending in Sage CRM.
