Trouble Shooting error message of ‘Access Denied or unkownname (Exception from HRESULT: 0X80020006(DISP_E_UNKOWNNAME))’ in GUMU Integration

Using GUMU™ for Sage CRM – Sage 100 ERP integration is a real-time bi-directional link where we synchronize all the customer data from Sage 100 to Sage CRM and vice versa. Thus users can have a 360-degree view of customer data within both systems.

Today in this blog, we will discuss troubleshooting tips to resolve a promote customer error from Sage CRM using GUMU™ integration.

Users may receive messages such as Access Denied or unkownname (Exception from HRESULT: 0X80020006(DISP_E_UNKOWNNAME)) or Target of invocation while performing GUMU promote customer activity from CRM.

Generally, these messages occur on the Sage CRM server when the windows user doesn’t have admin-level rights permission given under the Computer Management screen

For troubleshooting/fixing these issues, the user will have to check the below points on the Sage CRM server

  1. Open the Computer Management application.
  2. Click on Local Users and Groups -> Group folder as shown below for reference.

3. Click on the Administrator properties to check if the user name is present. If not, click on the add button and enter the windows user name to provide them the rights then click on Checkname -> Apply -> Ok.

4. Similarly perform the above steps for groups such as Distributed COM Users, IIS_IUSRS, and Power Users.

Once these steps are performed, re-try promoting customers from Sage CRM and check if the issue resolves.
