Custom Product Family Sage CRM QLE Screen.

The GUMU™ Sage 100 CRM integration is a fully bi-directional solution where users can have access to Sage 100 data wherever they log into Sage CRM. Connecting Sage 100 with Sage CRM allows customer-facing staff to view accounting data and create orders through the Sage CRM interface. 

Recently, our team had the opportunity to work with one of our clients, in tailoring their Sage CRM system to incorporate their requirements to enhance their service productivity. Basically, the customization was designed to simplify the process of creating Sage CRM Quotes and Orders against Service opportunities in Sage CRM. In this blog, we will shed light on the customization functionality we implemented for our client’s Sage CRM system.

The client has created a field at the Sage CRM opportunity level, and the value selected in the field determines if the created opportunity is a Normal Opportunity or a Service Opportunity. We created a product family called “Default Service Product” available exclusively within their Sage CRM and not in their other system, Sage 100. Furthermore, to enhance user experience and simplify the quote/order creation process, the “Default Service Product” product family has been added to the Quick Line Entry (QLE) screen. By doing so, users can quickly access and add line items from this product family to their Quotes/Orders created against the Service opportunities without navigating through multiple menus or screens. Also, with the “Default Service Product” family being set as the default selection on the QLE screen for the service opportunity, users no longer need to search or manually add the relevant items each time they create a new Quote or Order.

At the product level in Sage CRM, a “Default Service Product” checkbox has been included, enabling users to have control over the inclusion and exclusion of products within the default family. Note that adding products to this dummy product family (Default Service Product) will not change the original product line of the item, it will be just displayed in the QLE screen grid against the “Default Service Product” product family.
