Health check lets you track and identify all the vulnerabilities in your system such as defects in password, network sessions and so on. This feature is available for both Salesforce Classic and Lightning experience. The editions that support Health check are Professional, Developer, Unlimited and Performance editions.

To find this feature, go to setup and type Health Check in the Quick Find/Search box. Click on Health Check in the filtered result. Below is how the standard screen of Health check looks like –Salesforce Security Health Check

The first thing you will notice is the Salesforce Baseline Score. Now here’s what the scoring suggests; If your baseline score is below 33% then you might get affected by various risks and Salesforce will definitely advise you to improve security of your Org. Now, if your baseline score is between 34% to 66% then you might be affected by high risks for short term such as allowing multiple password attempts and others, while it also has medium level risks such as disabling session without warning pop up. And lastly if your score is above 67% then your environment is safe. But Salesforce highly recommends you to keep visiting these settings more often.

Now moving on, there are various poilicies made by Salesforce which helps in calculating this baseline score such as Password Policies, Session Settings and Network Access. These policies or settings as you may call are basically set of guidelines set by Salesforce and it expects you to follow them for better security of your Organization. These include what should be the complexity of password, what various combination of characters it shall contain, whether Salesforce should carry out sms verification and so on. You can also set trusted IP ranges under network access.High Risk Security Settings
Medium Risk Security Settings

Salesforce has widely suggested its users to keep the security of their working environment intact. The higher the security standard on Health Check, the more you are immune from various attacks. For better and efficient functioning of your business it is better to maintain these security standards.
