Sage 300 ERP provides you with all the major options required to track the different stages of Purchase order. Here, we would discuss one such option of short close purchase order.

New Stuff: Taxes in Sage 300 ERP

Let’s consider a scenario where we have raised a Purchase order of an item for 1000 qty against which the vendor has only supplied 100 qty. Later, it is found that the vendor is unable to supply the balance quantity; in this case the purchase order will remain open for 900 Qty.  We can short close this Purchase order in Sage 300 ERP. Here’s how we can short close the PO:

First open that purchase order, which we have to short close (due to short material received from vendor)

Then set completed is Yes and set Quantity outstanding as “0”. As same you can see in below screen shot:

Purchase order Entry

Then Re-post the Purchase Order, after this process, the system will short close the purchase order and we can’t receive remaining qty. against that purchase order.

Hope this blog post provides insight into we can short close the Purchase order, if in case short material received from vendor and vendor will not provide remaining material against that PO.
