In Sage300 A BOM Status Report is a detailed document that reflects the current status of all the components required to manufacture a finished product. It compares the planned components (as per BOM) with the current inventory or procurement status, identifying whether Items are available in stock, Items are pending purchase etc.

In this blog, we will discuss in detail the enhancements made to the BOM Status Report. The report now provides insights into the quantity of BOM items, including how much stock is currently available and how much additional quantity is required to assemble the BOM item.
To fulfill the above requirement, we have developed an executable tool to export the data. The user needs to select the appropriate filter criteria and specify the file path where the report will be generated.

Once the filter criteria are selected and the Export button is clicked, the report will be generated in the selected folder as an Excel file. The exported report will include parameters such as From Date, To Date, BOM Item, and Location.

As shown in the output above, the report is successfully generated in Excel format and includes BOM items, component items, and standard items. The Order Number is displayed under the Quantity column. In the case of multiple orders, the BOM component columns and the additional item column will expand horizontally to accommodate the extra details. If multiple transactions contain the same BOM item, they will be displayed as comma-separated values. The quantity of standard items will be reflected in the additional item column.
The report contains the following fields, which can be modified based on specific needs.
- Item Number
- BomComponent
- Additional Item
- Total Component Quantity
- PO Qty
- Qty On Hand
- Reqd Qty
- UOM
In this way, users can accurately determine the component and standard item quantities needed for BOM assembly. The utility also supports customization of the report to include any additional fields as required.
