CRM Quick Find functionality stopped working in Sage CRM

You all are aware of Quick Find feature of Sage CRM 2017, it has made the search functionality easy and flexible by applying the search norms within all the entities as well as fields of CRM on one single action. This feature has proved very useful for the Call Center users who needs to find Customer information as well as the records linked with them at one go.

New Stuff: Configuring Quick Find feature in Sage CRM 2018 R2 onwards

Recently the Quick Find functionality suddenly stopped working at my end. Since, the working of this functionality depends on the “CRM QuickFind” service so, I checked whether it is running or not by navigating to Administration -> System -> Quick Find in CRM. But, the Status of the service was showing as Stopped. Please refer below screenshot for the same.

I tried to restart the service by clicking on “Restart Quick Find” button, as shown in above screenshot. But, still it was showing the same status. So, I opened the Service console and checked for “CRM QuickFind” service. Over there it was showing the service status as “Running”. Refer below screenshot.

For further investigation, we checked the Keyword Search logs and found some error related to “CRMj” directory as shown in below screenshot.

Even on debugging from Browser, we were getting below error.
Since the above error log shows error related to sdata, we checked whether the Apache tomcat and URL Rewrite is working or not. Over there, we found that tomcat was stopped. After restarting the tomcat service, the QuickFind functionality was working fine.

CRM Quick Find and Sage CRM tomcat service works parallel to each other to deliver the Quick Find result set. Thus, to access the Quick Find feature, you have to make sure that both above said services are running properly.
