In Sage Intacct, Sales Commission application is extremely beneficial for the users to pay sales commission on calculation to the respective salesperson in-order to obtain better efficiency and save time in commissions calculation, helps to exclude the tedious and time consuming manual calculating commission. Therefore, using this application, Sage Intacct users can easily define commission rules and automate commission payments on sales transactions.
In this blog, we are sharing details about Commission group status where there is the ability to activate or inactivate a commission group. See the below screenshot.

To prevent the commissions from being calculated upon Invoice postings, user can inactive the Commission group.
For Parent-Child groups it is considered that if the Parent group is inactive then no commissions will be calculated for Child groups as well. However, if any of the Children group is inactive, then except that group commissions will be calculated for other Children groups of the selected Parent group.
All the calculated/posted/paid commissions prior to inactivating the group remain as it is. Also, those commissions would show up on the commission reports.
The “inactive” status will have effect on the commission calculations for Invoices posted after the group is inactivated.
In the cases where employees are to be given commission after a certain period, users can create and keep the Commission Group “inactive” for that period and later activate it from the point when commissions are posted upon Invoice postings.
