Adding Bundled Products in Opportunity

We recently serviced a cable operator firm where we came across a very interesting requirement. There were some products that were always bundled together. So when they sell one product, there are some accessories that they sell by default along with it. In the work model presented by Salesforce currently, the salesperson has to add each of these products individually to any opportunity.

We customized the system to allow the bundling of such products together as primary and secondary/child products. Now when salesperson goes to the opportunity, he sees an additional button (as seen in the screenshot below) that allows the salesperson to just pick the primary products along with their quantities and the system calculates the quantities for the child products, based on the stored bundle/assembly configuration, and automatically adds them to the opportunity.Adding Bundled Products in Opportunity

This not only eased the job of a salesperson but also increased their efficiency by eliminating the errors that would occur if they had to select each one individually, as there always exists a chance of missing some or the other item.

When you look around, you see this bundling in almost every vertical. You have these offers in the market floating everywhere, buy “abc” and get “xyz” free. These types of simple customizations can save so much of time and hassle.
