Tooltip within Sage CRM Grid

In Sage CRM, wherever there is multiline text field added on a list, for display purpose CRM will truncate its text and show it up to reasonable size. In this case, User won’t be able to read the whole text at a glance. To overcome this, we can add tooltip within grid and read whole text.

To achieve this, we will take example of Opportunity tracking notes.

In below screen shot, we have one opportunity with multiline description. But on grid, it is truncating the text.

By following steps we can add the tooltip on the Note column of a grid:

  1. Login to Sage CRM.
  2. Navigate to Administration | Customization
  3. Select Notes from secondary entity dropdown and navigate to Lists tab and select
  4. Click on Customize and select Notes column.
  5. Now select Notes from Hyperlink to
  6. Now on Custom content Section of the screen, add following code:

Custom content Section

  1. Click on Save and go to Opportunity-> Notes tab and mouse over the note column and you can observe the tooltip has been added. (Refer below screen shot)
