Insert Specific fields into E-mail Template

During the creation of E-mail templates in Sage CRM, some fields may not be available in the ‘Choose Field to insert into the E-mail list‘ drop down list. In this blog, we will explain how to insert those fields into an E-mail Template.

Let’s consider we need to merge the Company Registration No custom field which is available on Company Summary screen. Refer below screenshot.

Below are the steps that you need to follow.
1. Log in to Sage CRM.
2. Navigate to the below path
Administration | Customization | Translations
3. Enable Inline Translation Mode. Refer below screenshot.

4. On doing this, will add an asterisk to all the fields. Now navigate to Sage CRM screen where the field to be added to E-mail Template is located.
5. Once the field is located, click the asterisk symbol next to that field which will open an translation pop-up window. Refer the below screenshot.
Make a note of the value under Caption Code field. Now, again navigate to the translation screen and disable the Inline Translation Mode.


6. To insert this field name in E-mail template. Navigate to below path.
Administration | E-mail and Documents | E-mail Templates
7. Click New or an existing E-mail template where the field needs to be added.
Type the field name that you want to add between the hash value (#), in the subject or the body of the E-mail.
Below screenshot refers the example field ‘Company Registration No.’ in Hash value. Eg. #comp_reg_no#

Click on Save, once the process is finished.

The above trick can be used for different fields for different entities which you wish to add.
