In our previous blog, we have discussed regarding the process to create ‘Custom Queries’.
Continuing the same topic in this blog, we will discuss the feature, which will allow user to set access rights for created custom queries using “Authentication Type” i.e. Public/ Private.

To Navigate the screen you can refer to the below screenshots:
- Ones login to Sage 300 v2019 web screens – check for below icon on web toolbar as displayed in below screenshot.
User can set the custom query type as Public / Private while saving the same by which sage decides whether other users can view this custom query or not. For example, below ‘Administrator’ creates custom query with type ‘Public’
Above custom query can be viewed / modified / deleted by other user, as its type is ‘Public’.
Now the other user can create his own new custom query using this source custom query and can set its access type as Public/Private. This time if the user sets its type as ‘Private’ this query will not be available for other user to view. Even the creator of the source custom query cannot view this modified custom query (including Administrator).
In case if the source custom query creator change its type from public to the “Private” then other user will not have access to source query but still be able to access their modified custom queries.
As you can see in below screenshot ‘Administrator’ also not able to view the ‘Private’ custom query created by other user.
Any ‘Public’ custom query created by the users other than ‘Administrator’ can be modified or can be deleted by all users including ‘Administrator’. However, if any user tries to delete the ‘Public’ custom query created by ‘Administrator’, it is deleted for that particular user only but can be modified/viewed by other users. Only ‘Administrator’ can delete own ‘Public’ custom query created by him and after that it will be permanently deleted for all the users.
