While developing or customizing any screens in Sage 300, sometimes we may face one issue says ‘Can’t create control’ at the time of opening the customized screen in Sage 300. Due to this error, the screen is not able open in Sage 300. There are various reasons behind this issue as we can see in our other blogs. In this blog, we are going to discuss one of the reasons that causes this issue. The issue does not occur on development machine but while deploying the same on QA machine it occurs. Below is the screenshot of the error.
After we have tried various workaround on this error, we have found that the issue is causing due to ‘DataFormat’ property of control. While developing or customizing any screen in sage 300, we may set value to ‘DataFormat’ property to avoid further validation concerns for the control. Please refer to the below screenshot of property window.
If you set any value to ‘DataFormat’ property of control, then the issue will occur. If any control is of specific dataformat then we should handle it through the code to avoid this issue. This may be one of the reasons causing the issue says ‘Can’t create control’. The issue won’t appears in the development environment as supportive VB components are present on the system.
