Sage X3 has provided us with many functions which will be used to define the alerts by sending a message. We would like to discuss one of these Functions called “Notification Server”.
The creation of a Notification automatically creates a Workflow event in X3. Proceeding further on detailing this function.
We can think the notification can be taken as First stage in the definition of Workflow process. Whenever a notification is created it leads to generation of corresponding Workflow event.
Let us discuss about the features of creating Notifications:
- First of all the notification creation is simple as data entry has limited number of fields with a single tab.
- The Conditions which are complex to express are predefined.
- The Entry of the Criteria is made by displaying their titles.
Now, since we have already listed the features lets note some other points:
- Only some of the triggering cases that can be processed by the Workflow engine can be expressed.
- The send is limited to only two recipients.
- There is no associated signature process.
Once this creation is made, it is possible to modify the Workflow event, to complete it in order to process the functions not covered by the notification.
But it should be noted that from the moment that the resulting Workflow event is modified, the original notification will be deleted.
