When you quick search in a left list in X3 Version 6, you have to enter “*-search string-*” each time, otherwise the search won’t work and you will get no results.

We can avoid including the * in quick search by writing a small logic into the code. We can use the entry point to the GOBJACT standard processing. Please refer to the below screen shot we have added the entry point to the GOBJACT standard processing with ZCHGSEL specific processing.
In the specific processing ZCHGSEL we have written a logic of adding the * into search string automatically. Please refer to the below screen.
Now the left list quick search will work even without star.
