Sage 300 ERP 2023 is available now. As we all know with every release of Sage 300 version, it comes up with new features, enhancements to existing functionality and with increased security. With the release of Sage 300 ERP 2023, there are many features introduced to existing functions. This release provides us more security for user passwords and also made some technical upgrades and enhancements to provide overall security.
New Stuff: Order Entry Credit/Debit Notes forms
In this blog we are going to discuss about some new features introduced in Sage 300 ERP 2023 release.
User Passwords: Now Sage 300 ERP 2023 version has introduced necessity of more complex passwords. In Sage 300 database setup, on the advanced Security Settings screen, there is now only one option to require complex password. The passwords should contain at least one of each of the following to increase its complexity requirements:
- Lower Case letter
- Upper Case letter
- Number
- Special Character(such as * or #)
In this way sage helps us to protect our passwords by making it complex. Also as we all know Sage Database Setup utility comes up with Advanced Security Settings option in which it will gives us options as:
- Require complex passwords
- Require passwords to change every [] days
- Require minimum password length of [] characters
- Lock out user after [] attempts
- Enable locked out user after [] minutes
- Use time server
Through this options we can also give more security to our passwords and applications.
System and Databases: In this Sage 300 version, sage has made some technical upgrades and enhancements to improve overall security. Sage has introduced one new significant change related to database connection is new DNS setup. In this setup, the system will use ODBC driver 18 to connect to SQL server. When we are upgrading from a previous version of Sage 300, we need to make corresponding changes to our system database to make it compatible with newer version.
In this way, Sage 300 2023 version provides us more security to our applications.
