Inventory in any business consists of of goods or materials that a company maintains for sale or unprocessed supplies that a manufacturer holds for manufacturing. The management of inventory involves having the appropriate quantity of material or supply on hand to help reduce the loss of items or materials. Such preserved goods/materials are then turned into completed products or sold directly to consumers as necessary inventory. It helps significantly in reducing excessive inventory costs. Inventory is a crucial role in the success or failure of an organization or business.
Sage 300 ERP offers us with a variety of reports for tracking Lot and Serial Inventory. The IC Serial/Lot Stock Listing report is one example. This report gives us information about the availability status of the lot/serial number. The report provides various filter options to filter the data for lot/serial numbers. In this blog we will go through the details of this report.

Below is the screenshot of UI of the IC Serial/Lot Stock List report in Sage 300 ERP.
Following are the filter criteria’s available to print the report:
Print: Use this field to print the report for lot numbers.
Report Type: This field provides the option to print the report detailed or summary wise.
Select By: This field consist of two filter sets. The first filter set provides options to select Item Number, Serial Number or Customer number to print the report. In the second filter set user has options to further print details depending upon the Vendor Number, Sold Date, Location and Expiry Date.
Sort By: Specify whether to sort the information on the report by item number, serial number or location.
In the below screenshot you can see the details for serial numbers present in the system.

Thus with the help of this report availability status of lot and serial numbers for a particular item can be easily tracked.
