Groups being a very important feature of Sage CRM can be used to get a list of details of CRM records like Lead details, companies or people. Groups can help to get all of the information needed in a format that can be exported to Excel, CSV or it can be used to create a mass email. Groups created in CRM are available under My CRM-> Groups menu.
It is even easy to update selective field’s data within the group’s records, with the help of Mass Update functionality available against group. Working of Mass Update functionality is explained in below blog link.

As mentioned in above blog, we can update the same data against all records available inside a group using “Mass Update” button. In same way, we can update the Territory data also using “Update Territory” button as displayed in below screenshot.
The “Update Territory” button is only present if the group is created for Person or Company entity. Availability of these two buttons depends on the configuration made at System Behaviour as explained in below blog link.
One of our client using Sage CRM 2018 R2 wanted to update the data against the records in a group. Thus, I navigated to Groups page but was not able to find the “Mass Update” button against the group. To verify the settings configured, I went to System Behaviour page of Sage CRM and searched for “Allow mass update and update territory” property but, could not find the same. After a little bit of research, I found that from the release of Sage CRM 2018 R2 version the configuration is been renamed as “Allow mass operations” as displayed in below screenshot.
Thus after setting the “Allow mass operations” property to Yes, I am able to see the “Mass Update” button against the group.
