Suppose we are doing some customizations in Sage X3 where we need to add some fields in existing or new tables/screens. This field added should also display its short name or description, this becomes very easy in Sage X3.
Let’s proceed with an example, if we have added Chart of Account field within a screen it becomes a logical need that the COA Description should be displayed next to it.
The only thing to get this Account Description is set the LINK [parameter of the field] = LONG (Long Description)/SHORT (Short Description), check the screenshot below:
The only thing is the Data type used for the field should have a linked table assigned to it.
Thus whenever the field will be displayed on the screen the respective description will be featured next to it.
