Additional Commission feature in Sales Commission Module

In Sage X3, the commission module provides enhancement of existing commission features of Sage X3. It helps in overcoming challenges such as accuracy in sales commission calculation. Additionally, the commission module provides a feature that calculates additional commission as required by the user. To fulfil this requirement, we need to set additional commission to the sales rep. While calculating commission as per margin and net price, users also want to give additional commission on individual sales or on sales targets to sales reps. But sometimes, “additional commission is not defined for a given sales rep”. This message occurs while calculating additional commission if setup is not proper for that sales rep. As a result of this and to set up additional commission, we need to know how to set it up as follows:

Additional Commission can be calculated in three ways as defined in the” Target” field of the main Commission Setup screen in Commission Module. Additional commissions are calculated per sales rep based upon a year, a period, or a date range, as shown in figure 1.

As per this target field, setup will be changed in additional commission setup screen as shown in figure 2.  The ‘target’ field is set to ‘Year’ so that additional commission will be calculated as per yearly basis. If Period or date range selected then it will be calculated as per periods and in date ranges defined in the additional commission setup screen.

In the above figure you can see we are setting up additional commission on yearly basis, so we need to select sales representative, employee type, company, fiscal year, target amount means if this target is achieved by a given sales rep, then additional commission will be calculated as per given percent in the last additional commission column. If we define one line for sales rep if target is in the fiscal year then we cannot define another line for same sales rep and for same fiscal year as well as if target is on period or date range then dates should not be overlapped for same sales rep.

 In addition to calculating additional commission, a warning message is displayed while tagging invoices to which commission/additional commission is to be calculated, as seen in the below figure 3.

It will show OK or cancel. If the user clicks on OK then for which sales rep additional commission is not defined in additional commission setup screen, for that sales rep additional commission is not calculated. Rest of that gets additional commission and if the user clicks on the Cancel button then for that invoice not allowed to calculate additional commission until the user will not set up additional commission for sales reps as explained above.

This is how we can set up an additional commission for the sales rep and how to deal with the warning message ‘Additional commission is not defined for sales rep’.
