Sage X3 is a powerful ERP solution designed to streamline business processes such as procurement, inventory, and financial management. Its flexibility allows businesses to customize workflows to meet specific requirements, including automation of procurement tasks.
One of our clients requested that, restrict the manual addition of suppliers for RFQs created using the “RFQ Generation Button” from the Purchase Requisition screen. Sage X3, by being as flexible as possible, meets this requirement.
Let’s examine the functionality in greater detail.
Navigate to : Purchase -> Purchase request
According to this requirement, the user first created a Purchase request entry (API/PR/2025/0174) with the required products. and
As shown in Figure 1, two products—RM00113 and RM00114—were entered in the detail lines. After clicking the RFQ Generation button, the system automatically created a single RFQ, as illustrated in the screenshot below.

Navigate to : Purchase -> RFQs -> Requests for Quotation
Now, user attempts to manually add a supplier in the RFQ screen, the system will block the action and display a pop-up message stating, “Supplier addition not possible.” Refer to Figure 2 below.
As demonstrated above, the Supplier addition restriction on the RFQs screen is working in Sage X3.
