Every retail industry has the concept of providing sample products along with specific products. These products are sold free of cost and hence are considered as Free Products.

X3 has provided a concise workaround for handling the business process which involves selling of free products. This process can be controlled by using the “Price List” functionality.
Create a price list structure as follows:
The Criteria used in the example is of Product Code.
In Price/Free tab, select “Other Products” in the “Free products” drop down field. In the field “free type” select value “Threshold”.
This example uses the product “Cricket Bat” and the free sample product being sold is the “Cricket Ball”.
Setup the Price list Entry as follows:
Now in the Sales Order when the “Cricket Bat” is added the Cricket ball will automatically be added on the Item line grid.
Note that by default you won’t be able to edit the gross price of the Free Product. This can however be changed in the general parameter.
