As we all know Sage 300 is very flexible and customization can be easily achievable in it. Customizations which are based on standard views and fields are very simple and easier to implement as well are less costly, we have recently provided one such solution to our customer.
In this blog we are going to discuss on very generic and basic solution that user might like to implement so that it will make her entries easier and faster.
New Stuff: Compile error: User defined type not defined
There may be scenario, in which some specials comments / instructions need to be added on OE Order entry screen detail lines or on PO for goods purchase for specific order. In this case, manually adding same text as comments/instructions on every single detail line in multiple customer specific Sales orders/ POs can be time consuming error prone job. But manually adding this same text can be eliminated by maintaining Customer specific comments in Customer Master only i.e. on A/R Customers screen you can maintain these comments/instructions on ‘Comments’ tab. You can refer to the screenshot below for your reference:
As you can see in the screenshot above, We have maintained the required note/comments/instructions under specific Comment type i.e. “SPLCOMT”. User can create the comment type as per his preference in AR Setupà Comments Type screen as displayed in below screenshot:
Our customization, reads the comments maintained in AR Customers screen specific to decided comment type and this text can be populated on OE Orders detail line comments. Also, can be easily populated in Purchase orders also if POs are linked with SOs. You can refer to below screenshot for example.
Note:
- This populated comment can be either copied to OE Orders – detail lines comments or as instructions as per user preference.
- Also, they can be further modified by using standard OE – Comments/ Instructions popup.
