Financial Data Extraction in Sage ERP X3

Sage ERP X3 provides a powerful, financial-oriented data extraction facility for all inquiry and reporting needs. Used in conjunction with information, users can easily design and generate all company-specific operating statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports and inquiries. Sage ERP X3 provides a number of report-building tools, such as row and column content and formatting flexibility, as well as content restriction facilities such as reporting and company group codes.

Financial Data Extraction (FDE) in Sage X3 ERP works in 3 stages:

  • FDE Setup Creation
  • Calculation
  • Inquiry
  1. FDE Set-up:
    Function Path:  Parameters > Financials > Accounting forms > Financial data extraction

    This function is used to carry out financial data extractions relating to the following elements: general, dimensional and budgetary accounting. The attributes of the financial data extraction are defined within this function: specified here are the report format as well as the formulas that will make it possible to extract the amounts and quantities.
    The financial data extractions shipped as standard can be modified by the user. The below screen shot helps you in configuring the FDE in X3.

  1. FDE Calculation:
    Function Path:  Financials > Reporting > Financial Data Extraction > Calculation

    Through this functionality, we are able to calculate or update the calculation of a group of tables (in mass or by unit). The calculation procedure needs to be done before any FDE inquiry. The parameters are entered through a single screen based on selected Report Group.

  2. FDE Inquiry:
    Function Path:  Financials > Reporting > Financial Data Extraction > Inquiry

    This option makes it possible to consult the financial data extractions. Before carrying out the very first inquiry, it is necessary to have launched at least once the Calculation option of the financial data extraction that enables grouped initial extraction generation and assigns a version number to each extraction. It is also possible to launch a calculation for a financial data extraction provided directly from this option.
