How to activate customer allocation

There is functionality in Sage X3 where we can hold stock reservations for each customer based on each site. This functionality is located in sales module.

Navigate: SALES -> ALLOCATION -> CUSTOMER ALLOCATION.

As shown in the above screenshot, there is also an ‘END DATE’ field which notifies that the customer allocation can be done if the shipping date is less than end date.

To activate customer allocation we need to set a parameter in sales module. The parameter is named as USERERBPC.

Navigate: SETUP -> GENERAL PARAMETER -> PARAMETER VALUES -> VEN SALES -> ORDER ALLOCATION RULES (SAL).

This parameter has 3 option i.e. NO, YES, ON REQUEST.

If this parameter is set to YES, standard uses the stock which is reserved for that particular customer automatically.

And if this parameter value is set ON REQUEST, standard gives a pop-up just after entering the quantity in sales order. In that pop-up standard ask whether the user wants to allocate the stock from customer reservation or not, as shown in the below screenshot. And if user selects ‘yes’ option then only it allows for customer allocation.

Hence, the above steps done are mandatory to use the functionality of customer reservation.
