Exclude an Entity Field from Quick Find to reduce the size of the index

One more feature of SAGE CRM 2017! We are much aware about the searching mechanism in the new release i.e. Quick Find Functionality. It can search the connected data across all entities at once by using single keyword. We had seen that we can exclude an entity from this mechanism. But actually, not only an entity but also an entity field can be exclude from the process to maintain system performance.

Quick Find allows the users to search for key terms across all company, people, case, opportunity, lead, solution, communication, order, quote, and custom entity records at once considering the area which is not importance to look into it. To perform this, the application requires some efforts such as, RAM requirement, time, etc. according to the type of data that you want to search. We can reduce these efforts by ignoring the part which is not important by excluding entity fields from the indexing process.

Check the “Exclude from Quick Find” checkbox against a field and save the changes, as shown in below screenshot.

This will set the value as “1” into the database and will never consider for searching operation. In this way, we can exclude an individual entity field from Quick Find to narrow the range of results, reduce the size of the index and RAM requirements, and shorten the time to return results.
