How to enable Lot field in Customer return screen in Sage X3

Customer Returns are basically items that have been purchased from store or any online store but then returned by a customer.

In Sage X3, while creating Customer Return we may find difficulty in entering manually lot number in the screen. For solving this , X3 has a functionality to enable this field .

Navigate to: Sales → Return → Customer Returns

As we can see in the above screen, Lot field is disabled in customer return screen. There are two ways for enabling this field in Customer return screen. Just follow below steps:

Step1:

Navigate to: Common Data → Product → Product Categories → Receipt tab

  1. First select the product category in which your product is defined. Lt us take an example ‘BMSOL’.
  2. Then go to the Receipts tab.
  3. Select ‘Shipment return’ in movement type column and then set FREE in the Lot entry column.

Sometimes, user may find difficulty in setting the Lot entry field as ‘Free’ for this movement type. So there is another way to do this, for that follow step 2.

Step2:

Navigate to: Common Data → Product → Product Categories

  1. First select the product category in which your product is defined. Lt us take an example ‘BMSOL’.
  2. Then, go to management rule which is in the right panel. Select Default rules.
  3. One window (screen) will get open name as ‘Stock Management rules’.
  4. In this screen, select ‘Receipt’ tab.
  5. Then, select ‘Shipment return’ in movement type column and then set FREE in the Lot entry column.

After doing all these steps, now navigate to Customer Return screen and create new transaction and check lot field is enabled or not.

As we can see in the above screen shot, now system is allowing user to entry manually lot number of required product.

In this way, we can enter manually Lot number of product in the line level while creating Customer return.
