2. Create a Custom Folder :- Sage X3 provides a secure environment for customization through custom folders. Create a new custom folder to house your custom endpoints. This ensures that your changes are isolated from the standard Sage X3 structure.
Steps to Add New Endpoints in Sage X3 :-
All -> Administration -> Endpoint ->Endpoint
To Create new Endpoint click on Actions which is at right corner and click on New endpoint.
Fill the needed information like Folder Name, Description and choose the application and fill the server parameters.
In Sage X3, the “Nature” column serves as a categorization tool for selecting the folder’s purpose or environment. Users can choose from various options such as “Test,” “Production,” “Pre-Production,” “Pre-Setting,” and “Development.” This feature simplifies the organization and management of folders within Sage X3, allowing users to allocate resources and activities effectively based on the specific nature or stage of the project or process.
After filling all the information click on Action and Save. To check the endpoint, make sure to log out from the system and log in, only then you are able to see updated endpoint.
4. Test Thoroughly :- Testing is a critical phase. Ensure that your custom endpoints function as intended and do not disrupt the standard system’s performance. Perform unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to validate your changes.
5. Backup and Version Control :- Regularly back up your custom folder and maintain version control for your code. This ensures that you can roll back changes if needed and track the evolution of your customizations.
6. User Training :- If your custom endpoints are used by others, provide training to ensure that users understand how to leverage the new functionality effectively.
