How to Review the Currency Rate History in Sage X3

For audits, budgeting, or testing purposes, there might arise a need to review currency rate history. What’s the most straightforward way to go about this task?

In Sage X3, accessing this information is intuitive and efficient, ensuring that users can quickly review historical currency rates. Users can access a comprehensive overview of currency rate fluctuations over time by navigating to the currency management module. This straightforward process empowers users to analyze past trends, assess currency performance, and make informed decisions to support their auditing, budgeting, or testing objectives.

Currency Rates are recorded in the Common data Module, under Common tables then Currency rates.

Here, you can select a Source currency, set an effective Rate date, and choose from various Rate types. Additionally, you’ll specify the Currency you’re converting to and input the corresponding rates.

This page is used for inputting or recording the rates, as well as for viewing them.

You can enter the rate date to observe the rates that have been recorded for that particular date. Additionally, there’s a method that enables you to view rates for a span of up to 99 days.

This can be done by reviewing the historical rates on the same screen just below the the currency rates.

However, to see the history click the criteria button. (see above)

In that type the number, the number of days, and the currency to see one currency or leave blank to see all currencies

Click OK.

The history can be viewed in List or Graph format. The History grid features Show graph and Show list options. Just click on these to move between the view types.

On to the Graph view.

If the 99-day window or the current view doesn’t include all the required currency rates, then you can see more details under the report module or Printout module.

Here, you can choose the Original currency, specify a Currency range, rate type, and extend the Date range without limitations.

This gives a list of all the currency rates associated with that currency
