We all are aware how to do the setup of dimensions for sales/purchase transactions in Sage X3. Basically, the setup needs to be done on entry transaction level and product level. You can refer this blog to setup dimensions on Sales order lines:-

However, we have come across a scenario where all the setup had done on Purchase order entry transaction screen and Product master. But, users were not able to enter dimensions into the dimension fields on purchase order lines.
Refer below screenshots of the setups done on PO entry transaction and Product master.
In spite of this setup, when users were creating purchase order for site AO011 and product BMS002, they could not enter dimensions CCT, PRO, MAR and PRJ into below highlighted fields.
To resolve this, the below steps need to be performed:
1. Navigate to the path: Common data > Products > Products
2. Jump to the highlighted screen from Accounting Code field.
3. Select the appropriate legislation to make dimension setup on accounts. In this case, we are setting up dimension for ANG legislation.
4. When we navigated to the account ‘2111’, the setup on Dimension grid was missing and because of that the dimensions were non-editable on purchase order lines. So, we need to setup the dimensions that are to be entered on purchase order lines and save it.
6. Once the dimensions are entered on Account master, the dimensions on purchase order screen become editable. Refer below screenshot.
Thus, with setup on respective entry transaction and product master screens, we can have the dimension fields on purchase transactions. But, in order to make the fields editable, we need to do setup on the appropriate account level, too.
